Kazakh Wrestler Rizabek Aitmukhan Advances to Quarterfinals in Asian Championship

Kazakh wrestler Rizabek Aitmukhan has reached the quarterfinals of the Asian Championship, which kicked off on April 11 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Aitmukhan secured a victory in the qualifying match against Kyrgyz wrestler Andrey Aronov with a score of 6:0 in the 97 kg category. His next opponent will be 24-year-old Uzbek wrestler Mahsud Veysalov.

Rizabek Aitmukhan made history as Kazakhstan's first world champion in freestyle wrestling in the 92 kg weight category. The Asian Wrestling Championship, featuring various wrestling disciplines, will take place from April 11 to 16 in Bishkek, with freestyle wrestlers being the first to compete. In 2023, Aitmukhan topped the year-end ranking in freestyle wrestling by the UWW.
