Kazakh wrestler Rizabek Aitmukhan has won a silver medal at the Asian Wrestling Championship in Bishkek. According to the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan, Aitmukhan faced world champion Ahmed Tazhudinov from Bahrain in the final of the 97kg weight category.
Tazhudinov emerged victorious with a score of 4:2, leaving Aitmukhan with the silver medal. It is noted that Tazhudinov had previously won the World Championship in 2023, while Aitmukhan had become a champion in the 92kg weight category during the same year.
On April 11th in Bishkek, Meirambek Kartbay took third place in the 57kg weight category. Aitmukhan had advanced to the quarterfinals of the Asian Championship, which began on April 11th in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. His qualification match against Kyrgyz wrestler Andrey Aronov ended with a score of 6:0 in favor of Aitmukhan in the 97kg category.
