Kazakhstan National Team Shines at Asian Aquatics Championships

The Kazakhstan national team continues to excel at the Asian Aquatics Championships, adding more medals to their collection. In the latest day of competitions, Kazakh athletes earned two medals – gold and silver.

The duo of Dayana Dzhamanchalova and Sofia Ishchenko (age group 13-15) secured the first place in artistic swimming. The Kazakh pair dominated the free routine, scoring a championship-winning 233.5413 points. They outperformed Chinese swimmers Zhihuan Ye/Zhiyan Ku (229.6568) and the duo from Uzbekistan – Jasmina Kodirova/Sabina Makhmudova (194.8469).

Following their success, the bronze medalists of the Asian Games in Hangzhou, Yasmin Tuyakova and Arina Pushkina, claimed the "silver" at the 2024 Asian Championships in the 15-19 age group. The Kazakh duo achieved the second-best result (340.1650) in the free routine of artistic swimming. Uzbek athletes Ziyodakhon Toshkhujaeva/Anna Vashchenko took the top spot with a score of 347.4859, while representatives from Hong Kong – Wong Wing Ka/Wu Ku Lok – secured the bronze (290.4529).

This marks the fourth medal for the Kazakhstan national team in artistic swimming at these championships. Previously, Karina Magrupova and Dayana Dzhamanchalova contributed two top-tier medals to the team's tally.

Simultaneously, the water polo tournament is also taking place, where Kazakh water polo players are delighting fans with their initial victories.
