In the Portuguese city of Oeiras, the WTA-125 tournament on clay courts is currently underway. Representing Kazakhstan, Zhibek Kulambaeva competed in the first round of the doubles event.
In the quest for a spot in the quarter-finals, Kulambaeva and her French partner Estelle Cascino were defeated by the American duo of Carmen Corley and Ivana Corley with a score of 4:6, 1:6. The match lasted for one hour and 13 minutes.
During this time, the Kazakh-French pair struggled with their serves, committing two double faults and converting only one out of three break points. Prior to this match, Zhibek Kulambaeva, alongside Anna Danilina, secured a victory over the Japanese team in the Billie Jean King Cup qualification.
