Kazakh rowers Sergey Emelyanov and Timur Khaidarov emerged victorious in the final of the men's canoe double 500m event at the Asian Championships in Tokyo. The duo completed the distance in 01:44.213, clinching the top spot and securing an Olympic quota for Kazakhstan.
According to Olympic.kz, only one quota was up for grabs in this event, awarded to the winners of the final race. With this achievement, Kazakhstan now holds a total of 34 Olympic licenses across 14 sports.
The Summer Olympic Games are scheduled to take place in Paris from July 26 to August 11, 2024. On April 16, a ceremonial lighting of the flame for the 2024 Summer Olympics was held in Ancient Olympia, Greece.
