Kazakh Rowers Secure Olympic Qualification at Asian Championship in Tokyo

in Sport / Kazakhstan - by

Kazakh rowers have continued to impress at the Asian qualifying championship in Tokyo, Japan. Sergey Tokarnitsky and Bekarys Ramatulla claimed a gold medal in the MK2 category, covering a 500-meter distance. This victory not only marked their third highest-quality medal but also secured them a spot at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

In addition to their success, six other Kazakh rowers obtained licenses for the CA-2024, contributing to Kazakhstan's total of 36 Olympic licenses. This number may rise further as a qualifying tournament is ongoing in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan for freestyle wrestlers. Potential contenders like Yusup Batyrmurzaev (125 kg), Alisher Ergali (97 kg), and Nurkozha Kaipanov (74 kg) could secure their tickets to the Paris 2024 Games if they triumph in their semifinal matches.
