Kazakhstani Athletes Shine at Asian Water Sports Championship

In the final days of the Asian Championship for Aquatic Sports in the Philippines, Kazakhstani athletes clinched three top medals. Additionally, our team added two silver medals to their collection.

On March 6, Kazakhstan's junior team (ages 13-15) emerged victorious in the group artistic swimming competitions. The team, consisting of talented athletes such as Milana Ashakhanova, Karina Dotsenko, Saniya Gibadulina, Angelina Goryushina, Sofia Ishchenko, Dayana Dzhamanchalova, Albina Omirserikova, and Varvara Snegireva, showcased an outstanding performance, earning a total of 212.5417 points. This achievement placed them ahead of Singapore (208.8912) and Uzbekistan (202.5843).

Following their success, Kazakhstani juniors claimed the title of Asian champions in the mixed group program and acrobatic group in artistic swimming. Athletes like Anna Pavletsova, Artur Maydanov, Arina Myasnikova, Zhaklin Yakimova, Aiganym Saim, Darina Valiullina, and Karina Magrupova excelled in these categories, showcasing their skills and dedication.

The winners in the acrobatic group included Anna Pavletsova, Victor Druzin, Artur Maydanov, Arina Myasnikova, Zhaklin Yakimova, Valeria Stolbunova, Irada Islamova, and Aiganym Saim, with Karina Magrupova and Darina Valiullina as reserves.

Subsequently, Victor Druzin and Anna Pavletsova secured silver medals, with Artur Maydanov and Valeria Stolbunova as reserves. They claimed the second spot in the mixed pair program in artistic swimming (juniors), scoring 297.46.04 points, only trailing behind Thailand.

Another silver medal was added to the Kazakhstani team's tally by Aldiyar Ramazanov and Yasmina Islamova, with Yuliana Romanchikova as a reserve. They secured the second position in the mixed pair program in the junior category of 13-15-year-olds.

In conclusion, after three days of competition at the 2024 Asian Championship for Artistic Swimming, the Kazakhstani team amassed five top-tier medals and two silver medals. The competition continues in the water polo program at the New Clark City Aquatics Center in the Philippines, where both our men's and women's teams are striving for victory.
