Kazakhstani athlete Temirkhan Dairbek has secured a license to participate in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games by winning the Asian Championship in para rowing in Chungju, South Korea. Dairbek clinched the victory in the 2000-meter race, finishing in 9 minutes and 38.81 seconds to claim the gold medal. He edged out the silver medalist, Japanese athlete Mori Takua, by less than 2 seconds, with a time of 9:40.52. The third-place went to Sri Lankan athlete Priamal Jokadi, who clocked in at 10:01.15.

Representing the Turkestan region and born in 2004, Dairbek only started rowing a year ago but has already shown remarkable sporting achievements at a professional level. His personal coach is Farrukh Khamrakulov, as stated by the sports committee. This marks the twelfth license earned by Kazakhstani para athletes for the Paris Paralympic Games, scheduled to take place from August 28 to September 8 this year in the French capital.

On April 19, three Kazakhstani athletes also secured licenses for the 2024 Olympics.
