16-Year-Old Kazakh Tennis Player Makes Debut at "Masters" Qualifiers in Madrid

The qualification matches for the "Masters" in Madrid have kicked off, with 16-year-old Amir Omar Khanov facing off against the 86th-ranked player in the world, Spanish Roberto Bautista Agut.

In the first set, the Kazakh player, ranked 13th in the ITF junior world rankings, was leading 2-1, but the experience of the former world number nine eventually prevailed. Agut won the set 6-2. In the second set, Amir managed to secure one game, with the Spaniard winning 6-1.

Amir Omar Khanov has become the first Kazakh player to compete in the "Masters" qualifiers at the age of 16. This marks his debut in an ATP Tour tournament. Recognizing the progress of the young Kazakh player, the organizers granted him a special invitation.
