Kazakh Tennis Players Skatov and Popko Shine in Challenger Tournaments

Kazakh tennis players Timofey Skatov and Dmitry Popko have begun their campaigns in the Challenger series tournaments. Skatov had a successful start in Ostrava, Czech Republic, while Popko kicked off his performance in Savannah, USA.

In Ostrava, Timofey Skatov (ATP #271) defeated Jan Kumstat with a score of 6-1, 6-2. The match lasted 1 hour, during which Skatov scored three aces and converted five out of ten break points. He did not commit any double faults. Skatov is set to face Spanish player Daniel Rincon (ATP #194) in the second round.

In Savannah, Dmitry Popko secured a victory in his opening match against Bruno Kuzuhara with a score of 6-3, 6-4. Popko registered three aces, one double fault, and capitalized on four out of six break points in the 1 hour and 25 minutes long match. He will now compete against another American player, Ethan Quinn (ATP #248), for a spot in the quarterfinals.

Prior to these matches, experienced Kazakh tennis player Mikhail Kukushkin faced an obstacle in the qualifying rounds of the Madrid Masters.
