The second round of the Kazakhstan Premier League concluded on the evening of March 7th, with "Tobol" and "Astana" emerging as the leaders of the tournament table.
Over the course of three days, a small surprise was delivered by the "Atyrau" footballers, who managed to secure valuable points against the country's champion, "Ordabasy", playing to a 1-1 draw. In this match, both goals were scored by the Western Kazakhstan team. First, Olzhas Kerimzhanov marked an own goal 25 minutes before the final whistle. Then, Erzultan Kaldybekov saved his team from defeat with a goal in added time.
The second round of the QFL-2024 started on March 5th, with "Astana" securing their second victory of the new season by defeating "Zhetysu" from Taldykorgan 2-0.
Similarly, the Kostanay-based team "Tobol" achieved their second victory in the current championship by defeating "Elimay" from Semey 4-2 on their home turf.

Following the games, the top 5 teams of the tournament table were determined, with "Tobol" and "Astana" leading the pack with two wins out of two matches, each with six points. They were followed by "Ordabasy", "Kairat", and "Kyzylzhar" with 4 points each.
The Kazakhstan Premier League clubs will now take a three-week break as the national team prepares to face Greece in the Nations League. The country's championship will resume on March 30th.
Meanwhile, the national team of Kazakhstan will begin preparations on March 8th for the crucial match against Greece.
