Kazakhstani Duo Wins Silver in Mixed Team Air Pistol Shooting at World Cup

Kazakhstani athletes Erkin Gabbasov and Anna Dovgeleevich won a silver medal on the second day of the World Cup in mixed team air pistol shooting, scoring 615.8 points in the mixed team event (R10), as reported by the event organizers.

The South Korean athletes Lee Yunri and Park Jinho outperformed our pair, securing the gold medal with 618.6 points, according to the press service of MTS RK. Another pair from South Korea, Lee Yudjin and Lee Janho, took the third spot with 614.3 points.

This marks the second medal for our shooting pair in the last two days of the 2024 World Cup, currently taking place in Changwon, South Korea. Earlier, on the first day of the competition, Erkin Gabbasov stood out by becoming the champion in the R10 discipline, bringing the country's first-ever gold medal in team shooting. The competition, which will run until May 1st, features over 260 athletes from 49 countries.

For Erkin Gabbasov, this is not his first success this year. On March 9th, he clinched a silver medal at the World Cup in New Delhi, India. This achievement earned him a qualification for the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.

At this moment, Kazakhstan has secured 12 spots for the trip to the 2024 Paralympics.
