On April 28, Kazakhstani junior Zangar Nurlanuly won the ITF Juniors J100 tournament in Izmir, Turkey.

In the final, Zangar defeated the third junior player from Turkey, the top seed of the tournament, Melih Anavatan, in three sets with a score of 3:6, 7:5, 6:2.

During this tournament, the Kazakhstani player proved to be a formidable opponent for Turkish tennis players, as he also defeated two other Turkish representatives on his way to the final, according to the Tennis Federation of Kazakhstan.

"The decisive game was tough and intense. After losing the first set, I managed to show a high level of play in the second set. I am glad that I was able to achieve the final victory and claim my first singles title in 2024," noted Zangar Nurlanuly after the game.

This marks Zangar's third trophy in singles under the ITF Juniors category. Last year, he won two tournaments in Armenia and Slovakia.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's number one male singles player and the world's 18th seed, Alexander Bublik, reached the third round of the clay-court "Masters" in Madrid.
