Elena Rybakina, the top-ranked tennis player from Kazakhstan (currently ranked 4th in the WTA), defeated the 72nd-ranked player in the world, Mayar Sherif from Egypt, in the third round of the WTA-1000 tournament in Madrid.
The match concluded in two sets, with Rybakina securing a convincing victory of 6:1, 6:4.
In the fourth round of the competition in the Spanish capital, the Kazakh player will face off against Czech player Sara Bejlek, who defeated Ashley Kruger from the USA with a score of 6:3, 6:1.
Furthermore, Kazakhstan's top male tennis player and the 18th-ranked player in the world, Alexander Bublik, advanced to the third round of the clay court "Masters" in Madrid.
