Kazakh Athletes Shine at Freestyle Mogul World Cup in Almaty

The first competitive day of the Freestyle Mogul World Cup stage in Almaty has concluded with two Kazakh athletes making it to the finals.

Among the female participants from Kazakhstan was Yuliya Galysheva, who secured the fifth place with a score of 68.58. The first place went to Australian skier Jakara Anthony with a score of 82.74.

In the men's category, Kazakh athlete Pavel Kolmakov finished sixth with a score of 72.53. The gold medal was claimed by Canadian skier Mikael Kingsbury with a score of 84.89.

Up next, on Saturday, March 9th, the parallel mogul competitions will take place.

In another sporting success for Kazakhstan, chess player Bibisara Assaubayeva clinched the first place at the Aeroflot Open 2024 chess festival held in Moscow.
