In Astana, as part of the International Women's Day celebration, an open championship among girls in equestrian sports took place. Athletes from four regions of Kazakhstan participated in the event, organized by the Federation of National and Olympic Equestrian Sports of Astana.
This year marks the third edition of the tournament, with an increasing number of participants each year. The event gathered around 70 female riders from Karaganda, Almaty, Almaty Region, and Astana.
The tournament, supported by the capital's akimat, showcased the artistry and skill of equestrian sports. Participants from about five equestrian clubs competed, highlighting the unique partnership between the rider and the horse, making it more than just a sport but an art form.
Equestrian sports in Kazakhstan are thriving, with Astana hosting three equestrian clubs where athletes train and compete at championships. The sport is considered graceful and is an Olympic discipline, offering opportunities for athletes to represent their country on the world stage.
Six different categories based on height and difficulty levels were featured in the championship, with a total prize fund of 6 million tenge. The best performance was delivered by local athlete Raisa Sokolenko, who has been both an active athlete and a coach in the sport for 14 years.
The competition was a tribute to International Women's Day, with participants showcasing their skills in various categories. The event aimed to promote the sport among women and empower them to pursue their passion for equestrian sports.
