Alisha Bysalieva from Astana became the first among Kazakhstan chess players to win the World Championship in 2024: in Durres, Albania, she won the rapid tournament in the under-eight age category.
According to the Kazakhstan Chess Federation, from April 26 to 28, 2024, the World Championship in rapid and blitz chess among cadets (FIDE World Cadet Rapid & Blitz Championships 2024) took place in Durres, Albania, located on the shores of the Adriatic Sea. Young chess players from nearly 40 countries competed in three age categories.
"Our young chess players continue to delight with bright victories at the highest level. Six medals won, including one gold, at the World Rapid and Blitz Championship are primarily the result of tremendous work done by the coaching staff, parents, and the athletes themselves. The guys are not only the pride of all Kazakhstan but also an excellent example for hundreds and thousands of peers who are just starting to engage in chess," noted the President of the Kazakhstan Chess Federation, Timur Turlov.
It is noted that Kazakhstan was represented by 22 hopes in this competition, collectively winning six medals, including one gold. Alisha Bysalieva from Astana emerged as the gold medalist, surpassing everyone in rapid chess in the under-eight category. She also secured the "silver" in blitz.
A peer of hers from Aktobe, Nurali Nurshin, won a medal of the same caliber in blitz. Bronze medals were awarded to Nursultan Sultanhan from Turkestan (rapid, under eight years), Khanzada Amanzhol from Aktobe (rapid, under 12 years), and Alimzhan Zhauynbay from Astana (blitz, under 10 years).
Earlier, it was reported that the well-known and best chess player in Kazakhstan, Bibisara Assaubayeva, who had been "missing" from social networks since the end of September 2023, shared joyful news. It turned out that seven months ago, hackers hacked and deleted her Instagram account, but she managed to recover it.
