Elzhanа Taniyeva, the leader of the Kazakhstani women's artistic gymnastics team, has won the gold medal at the 2024 Asian Championships and has qualified for the Olympic Games in Paris.
According to the press service of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstani athlete competed for a quota in the individual all-around at the qualifying Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championship in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
On the first day of the competition held on May 2, Taniyeva took the lead by performing in the ball and hoop exercises.
The following day, on May 3, the competitions in ribbon and clubs exercises took place. Here, Elzhanа also maintained her leadership positions, securing her the gold medal and a ticket to Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games.
At the 2024 Asian Championships, Elzhanа Taniyeva scored 133.40 points, while another compatriot, Aibota Ertaykyzy, finished in fifth place.
Currently, our gymnasts have two medals from the Asian Championship. In addition to Elzhanа Taniyeva's gold, there is also a bronze for the Kazakhstani team in the group all-around, which was won on May 2.
In total, our female athletes scored 61.30 points, trailing behind representatives from Uzbekistan and Japan.
