Kazakhstan Rhythmic Gymnasts Win Gold at Asian Championships in Tashkent

On May 4, representatives of the Kazakhstan national team in rhythmic gymnastics, Aibota Ertaykyzy and Elzhan Tanieva, secured gold medals at the Asian Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

According to the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan's press service, Elzhan Tanieva first excelled in the hoop exercises final at the Asian Championships, showcasing unmatched performance. The Kazakhstani gymnast scored 33.90 points for her routine, clinching the top spot. Second place went to Reina Matsusaka from Japan with 33.30 points, while Aibota Ertaykyzy secured third place with 33.25 points.

Subsequently, Aibota Ertaykyzy shone by claiming the gold medal in the ribbon exercises final at the Asian Championships. She received a score of 32.90 points from the judges. The podium also featured Tahmina Ikromova from Uzbekistan with 32.50 points and the Japanese gymnast Reina Matsusaka with 31.30 points. Notably, Ertaykyzy took second place in the ball exercises and third place in the hoop exercises.

As a result, by the final day of the Asian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, the Kazakhstan team had accumulated three top-tier awards. The day before, the leader of the Kazakhstani women's team, Elzhan Tanieva, secured a gold medal at the 2024 Asian Championships and qualified for the Paris Olympics.

Furthermore, on the first day of the competition, Kazakhstani gymnasts clinched third place in the team all-around event.
