In Uzbekistan, the IX Central Asia Karate Championship (WKF) has concluded, where Team Kazakhstan emerged as the clear winner in the team standings with a significant number of medals.
In Samarkand, Kazakh karate athletes showcased their skills and proved to be the best in Central Asia, clinching a total of 39 gold, 30 silver, and 472 bronze medals.
Over 1,000 athletes from six countries in the region participated in the competition. Awards were contested across various age groups starting from 10 years old, including adults, in both kata and kumite disciplines.
At the conclusion of the 2024 Central Asia Championship, Team Kazakhstan confidently secured the first-place position in the team standings. Following them, Uzbekistan (22 gold, 29 silver, 583 bronze) and Turkmenistan (6 gold, 7 silver, 204 bronze) made it to the top three.
While our karate athletes excelled in Samarkand, young Kazakh leather glove masters dominated the ring in Astana. At the Asian Youth Championship, the tournament hosts secured 11 top-quality medals.
