At the recent World Challenge Cup in Artistic Gymnastics held in Portimao, Portugal, Kazakh athletes showcased their talent and brought home three medals. The athletes who excelled and earned recognition were Milana Parfilova and Erika Zhailauova.
In the finals, Milana Parfilova secured second place in the hoop exercise and also clinched a spot in the top three in the ribbon routine. Additionally, Erika Zhailauova delivered a remarkable performance in the ball exercise, earning a silver medal at the tournament.
Meanwhile, in Hong Kong, China, Kazakhstan's representatives in trampoline gymnastics also made their mark. Across different age groups, the Kazakh team brought home three gold, one silver, and two bronze medals. The junior gymnasts Abdulaziz Abdullaev, Sofia Dolgopolova, and Ekaterina Kozhemyakina stood atop the podium with their gold medal-winning performances. Adal Manat claimed a silver medal, while Abilmansur Zhaksylyk and Ruslan Izmailov rounded up the top three positions.
Overall, Kazakhstan's team accumulated six medals, securing the second spot in the overall team standings. Notably, the leader of the Kazakh artistic gymnastics team, Elzhan Tanieva, recently clinched the title of Asian Champion and is set to compete at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
