On May 14, the Kazakhstan men's ice hockey team played their third match at the World Championship in the Czech Republic, where they were defeated by Latvia with a score of 0:2.

The Latvian team, which finished third in the previous World Championship, scored two unanswered goals against Andrey Shutov in the match against the Kazakh team. The goals were scored in the second period, breaking the initial deadlock. The goals were scored by Roberts Bukarts and Haralds Egles.

In the final period, the score remained unchanged, and Latvia celebrates their third consecutive victory at the 2024 World Championship. Meanwhile, the Kazakh players suffered their second defeat on Czech ice.

As a result, under the guidance of Galym Mambetaliyev, the Kazakh team has earned three points after three matches in the tournament, placing them fifth in the subgroup B standings.

The 2024 World Championship in the Czech Republic started off well for our team with a victory over France with a score of 3:1. However, this was followed by a defeat against Slovakia with a score of 2:6. And now, we have been disappointed by the Latvians.

Our next game will be against the Swedish team on May 16, starting at 19:20 local time in Kazakhstan.
