In Oeiras, Portugal, the ATP Challenger Tour is taking place, where Kazakhstani players Beibit Zhukayev (174 ATP) and Denis Evseev (177 ATP) will face each other in the quarterfinals.
Zhukayev defeated Paul Kipschon from the USA with a score of 7:5, 7:6 (7:5), while Evseev triumphed over the 2022 Shymkent Challenger champion, American Emilio Nava (124 ATP), with a score of 7:6 (10:8), 6:0.
According to the press service of the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation, Zhukayev and Evseev have faced each other four times, with Evseev leading 3:1 in their head-to-head encounters.
It is noted that Timofey Skatov (247 ATP) has also advanced to the quarterfinals of the ATP Challenger Tour in Tunisia. In the second round, the Kazakhstani defeated Dutch player Gijs Brouwer (241 ATP) with a score of 6:2, 6:3. Skatov will compete for a spot in the semifinals against the tournament's top seed, Valentin Vacherot (120 ATP) from Monaco.
Earlier, it was reported that Kazakhstani tennis player Beibit Zhukayev played a first-round match in the singles main draw.
