The Indian Wells Masters tournament is in full swing with both men's and women's competitions taking place. Kazakhstan's second seed, Yulia Putintseva, faced off against the world's number one player, Iga Swiatek from Poland in the fourth round.
Unfortunately, our Kazakh tennis player couldn't match up to the world's best and was defeated with a score of 1-6, 2-6 in a match lasting 1 hour and 11 minutes. Putintseva made four double faults, struggled with her serve, and only converted two out of six break points.
In the quarterfinals, Swiatek will meet former world number one, Caroline Wozniacki, who is currently ranked 204th in the WTA rankings. Wozniacki secured her spot by defeating another former number one player, Angelique Kerber from Germany, in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 6-2.
