At the XX Winter Surdlympics, the men's national chess team of Kazakhstan secured a bronze medal with 10 points. The Committee for Sports and Physical Education of Kazakhstan mentioned that the gold medal was claimed by athletes from Croatia with 12 points, while the silver went to the team from Poland with 11 points.
The Kazakhstan team included Sultan Kozhakhmetov, Samazhan Kettebekov, Maxim Rozhkov, Amangel'di Nauryzgaliyev, Meirman Perneev, and Viktor Maksimenko. The head chess coach Eldos Kuzerbayev shared that the tournament was intense, with strong opponents showcasing high levels of skill. Kazakhstan's team secured victories against Italy, Germany, and Serbia, drew with Ukraine and Poland, but lost to Croatia, ultimately earning the third spot out of thirteen teams after seven rounds.
The XX Winter Surdlympics took place in Erzurum, Turkey, from March 2 to 12. Kazakhstan was represented by 26 athletes across three disciplines: chess, snowboarding, and skiing. Additionally, on March 10, it was reported that Kazakhstani athletes clinched third place at the Asian Aquatics Championships held in New Clark City, Philippines.
