Kazakhstan Premier League's bronze medalist in 2023, club "Aktobe," has announced the signing of a new player – Dominican forward Dorni Romero. The 26-year-old player started his professional career in his home country seven years ago, playing for clubs such as "Delfines del Este" and "Cibao," where he was recognized as the top scorer of the Second Dominican League and the most valuable player of the tournament.

In 2020, Romero played for the Mexican team "Venados" before moving to Bolivia. He first played for "Real Santa Cruz" and then joined "Always Ready," where he became the team's leader. In the 2023 season, Romero scored 25 goals, becoming the top scorer of the Bolivian championship. Last year, he netted 35 goals for both his club and the Dominican Republic national team, establishing himself as one of the top snipers in the CONCACAF region.

With Romero's acquisition, FC "Aktobe" has strengthened its attacking line-up. The trio of forwards – Samorodov, Umaev, and Romero – is set to pose a challenge for any team in the 2024 KPL championship. Their first test will be against the players of the capital's "Zhenis" on March 31.

Meanwhile, Romero is getting acquainted with his new teammates at "Aktobe," except for some players who are away representing the Kazakhstan national team. The national team coach, Magomed Adiev, has invited key players from "Aktobe" for training in Dubai, gearing up for the match against Greece on the road to Euro 2024 qualification.

On March 14, the Kazakh team will play a friendly match behind closed doors against Turkmenistan as part of their preparations.
