The Karate1 Premier League tournament for adults recently concluded in Antalya, with the Kazakhstan team securing two gold and three bronze medals. The event gathered around 400 top karate masters from 60 countries, competing in various weight categories with only the top 32 karatekas in each division.

Among the participants from Kazakhstan, Moldir Zhanbyrbai emerged as the early winner in the women's kumite program in the under 50 kg category due to an opponent's injury. Another Kazakh athlete, Bella Samasheva, showcased her dominance in the women's under 55 kg category, clinching the gold medal.

Furthermore, Olympic Games medalist Sofya Berultseva faced tough competition, defeating Portuguese karateka Rita Oliveira but falling short against Germany's Knir Johanna in the semifinals. Berultseva secured the bronze medal by outperforming England's Sophie Rochelle Waltersten.

Additionally, Asia champion Asel Kanay and Asian Games winner Nurkanat Azhikanov also claimed bronze medals at the Premier League 2024 tournament. The success of Kazakh athletes reflects the country's strong presence in international karate competitions.

The victory of Moldir Zhanbyrbai and the overall performance of the Kazakh team in Turkey underscore the reputation of Kazakhstan's karate school as one of the leading forces not only in Asia but globally. With consistent podium finishes at major competitions, such as the First Open Asia Championship 2023 in Almaty, Kazakh athletes continue to shine in the world of martial arts, bringing pride and glory to their country.
