Kazakhstani gymnasts had a successful outing at the Aphrodite Cup 2024 international tournament in Greece, clinching a haul of medals. The team secured three gold, one silver, and two bronze medals in various categories.
In the rhythmic gymnastics competition, Kazakhstani athlete Erika Zhailaova excelled in the ball routine, earning the highest score of 32.650 points. She was followed by Japanese gymnast Naruha Suzuki with the same score, and another Kazakhstani gymnast Aibota Ertaykizi with 32.500 points.
Aibota Ertaykizi also dominated the clubs routine with a score of 32.000, securing the top spot. Meanwhile, Kazakhstani gymnast Milana Parfilova claimed the bronze with a score of 31.000.
In the ribbon routine, Aibota Ertaykizi once again shone, winning the championship with a score of 32.050. Milana Parfilova followed closely with 31.450 points, and Japanese gymnast Reina Matsusaka took the third spot with 30.450 points.
The tournament saw participation from 79 gymnasts representing 32 countries in the individual competitions of the Aphrodite Cup 2024. Notably, a year ago at the same event, Kazakhstani gymnasts also won six medals but did not secure any gold.
This success adds to the recent achievements of Kazakhstani gymnasts, with Elzhana Tanieva winning a gold medal at the Grand Prix stage in Spain last week. The leader of the Kazakhstani team scored 33.400 points in the rhythmic gymnastics final, claiming the gold medal and the top spot on the podium.
