Divers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations are conducting a clean-up of the Issyk-Kul lake from garbage and illegal fishing nets. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

According to the agency, they have removed 24,600 meters of fishing nets and 2,985 kilograms of garbage from the lake.

"It is evident that a large portion of the fishing nets retrieved from the water are new. This indicates that poaching is still ongoing, despite being prohibited by law," noted the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

It is worth reminding that since March 12, 2023, based on the president's decree, extensive efforts have been initiated to clean up Issyk-Kul from garbage and fishing nets that are harmful to the lake's flora and fauna.
