The electronic music, art, and science festival "Stihia" will take place from June 5th to 8th in Muynak, as announced by the organizers.
"Stihia" has been held annually since 2018. This year, the festival will once again be held in the historically significant city of Muynak, where it has been held since its inception, except for last year when it took place in the Navoi region. The event attracted around 3000 visitors last year, with half of them coming from other countries such as Kazakhstan, Russia, France, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, and others.
"'Stihia' is not just a festival, it is a kind of movement towards sustainable development of the region, mutual respect for the environment, and cultural heritage," stated the festival organizers.
Within "Stihia", there will be four stages:
- I am still waiting for you, Jonim - the dark side of the festival featuring industrial techno, tribal bass, hardcore, and trance.
- Lighthouse - the bright side of the festival with house rhythms, progressive, and dub-techno.
- #BackToMuynak - an open deck for local artists.
- Aq Keme - a polygon for experiments showcasing avant-garde live performances and elaborate DJ sets.
In addition to musical performances, attendees can expect workshops, masterclasses, and "Stihia N+1" - a forum dedicated to ecology and sustainable development.
This year's musical lineup features over 50 artists from around the world, ranging from avant-garde electronic music to experimental acoustic collectives and ambient sounds. The festival will showcase the creativity of three music communities from Central Asia, shaping the modern club culture of the region.
Renowned electronic music masters such as Deena Abdelwahed (Tunisia/France), Galya Bisengalieva (Kazakhstan/UK), Masayoshi Fujita (Japan), PTU (CIS), and Sign Libra (Latvia) have been invited by the organizers of "Stihia". The list of artists is expected to expand further.
The forum is supported by the Ministry of Ecology, Environment, and Climate Change of Uzbekistan and leading international experts. Apart from the musical platform, "Stihia" provides a space for discussing urgent environmental issues and finding solutions in the field of ecology.
"We urge all visitors to respect nature, monitor waste disposal, and be mindful of which bin they are using, as the festival implements separate waste sorting. We also ask to reduce plastic consumption by opting for reusable thermoses or flasks," added the organizers.
Tickets for the festival, taking place from June 5th to 8th, are available on the official website: stihia.org.
