In the Tashkent Botanical Garden on May 18, a festival and concert dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the partnership between the European Union and Uzbekistan will take place, as announced by the EU Delegation in Tashkent.
The EU Festival, an exhibition of projects funded by the EU, and a gala concert mark the beginning of a series of events dedicated to the anniversary date and planned for the year 2024.
"Our long-term partnership is based on common values and goals. The European Union is unwavering in its support for the sustainable development of Uzbekistan and a better future for its people," stated Ambassador Charlotte Adrian, the EU Ambassador to Uzbekistan.
Through an interactive platform, young people, students, and all interested individuals will have the opportunity to learn about more than 40 projects funded by the EU in the areas of trade and employment, human rights and civil society, education and professional skills, environmental sustainability, agriculture, culture and heritage, and more.
Additionally, the festival program includes:
- Interactive game on combating climate change within the project "Climate Change and Resilience in Central Asia";
- Quizzes and Q&A sessions as part of the project "Skills Development for Employment in Rural Areas of Uzbekistan";
- Tasting of products "Made in Uzbekistan," featuring goods from EU-AGRIN projects;
- Educational quizzes organized by the National Erasmus+ Office;
- Events organized by the Embassy of Finland, and much more.
For families, children, and youth, there will be quizzes on European themes, team games, drawing masterclasses, and dance sessions in different zones - "Mind Space," "Sports," "Dance," and "Art," symbolizing the cultural partnership between the European Union and Uzbekistan, promoting exchange and intellectual interaction.
As part of the gala concert, performances will be given by the groups Sahar, Marokand, Hooligans, Vasilisa Naipak, El-Yorbek Meliboyev, Sabina Mustaeva, and DJ King Macarella.
Entry to the festival is free for all interested individuals.
