in Economy / Kazakhstan - by

During a government meeting on March 19, Finance Minister Madi Takiyev discussed the readiness of revenue authorities for universal income declaration in Kazakhstan.

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektanov reminded that starting next year, all Kazakhstan citizens are required to submit income declarations and inquired about the preparedness for this step.

"We are prepared for the fourth stage of universal income declaration. The system will cover around 13 million people, and we are ready for it," stated Finance Minister Madi Takiyev.

He mentioned the operation of 222 consultation centers in regional revenue departments providing assistance, with consultation also available via the short number 1414.

"We have collaborated with second-tier banks. Services for income declaration submission have been implemented for citizen convenience. Where there is no internet access, we are exploring options with 'Kazpost' for declaration submission," the minister added.

Universal income declaration was introduced in 2021 and will expand to entrepreneurs in early 2024 and nearly the entire population of Kazakhstan by 2025. Details on who, how, and when individuals are required to report assets and income can be found here.
