A businessman in the Karaganda region of Kazakhstan sought assistance from the Department of the Committee for Regulating Natural Monopolies of the Ministry of National Economy regarding the activities of the company "Teplotransit Karaganda". Following an investigation, the company was fined almost 3 million tenge for overcharging an individual entrepreneur for thermal energy. The fine of 2,953,600 tenge was paid by the company through expedited proceedings under Part 4 of Article 164 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses.
The press service of the Committee for Regulating Natural Monopolies highlighted this case, which revealed the company's misconduct. This incident came after a waste management enterprise in the Zhetysu region was fined 2.3 billion tenge for similar violations.
