in Economy / Kazakhstan - by

According to the Department of State Revenues in the city of Astana, as of March 1, 2024, residents of the capital owe 1 billion 563 million tenge in transport taxes. The deadline for individuals to pay their 2023 transport taxes was April 1, 2024, with payments made at the place of residence.

Exemptions from the transport tax apply to veterans, Heroes of the Soviet Union, Heroes of Socialist Labor, individuals awarded the titles "People's Hero", "Kazakhstan's Best Worker", recipients of the Order of Glory of three degrees and the Order "Otan", mothers of many children, and disabled individuals for one vehicle with an engine capacity of up to 4,000 cubic centimeters.

The capital's Department of State Revenues advises vehicle owners with tax arrears exceeding 1 MRP to fully repay their tax debts to avoid inconveniences in dealing with private bailiffs. Individuals who fail to pay their tax on time will receive notifications of their tax arrears starting from April 2, 2024.

For tax arrears exceeding 1 MRP (3450 tenge), an automatic tax order for the collection of the individual's debt is generated 30 working days after the notification is delivered and sent to the debtor. In case of non-payment of the debt within 5 working days after receiving the tax order, the case is transferred for enforcement to private bailiffs.
