Eurasian Economic Commission's Decision on Duty-Free Import Threshold Expired

The decision of the Eurasian Economic Commission from September 27, 2023, regarding the increased threshold for duty-free import of goods for personal use has expired.

The Committee of State Revenues of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan reminded that the validity of the increased threshold for duty-free import of goods for personal use, stipulated by the decision of the Eurasian Economic Commission from December 20, 2017, "On certain issues related to goods for personal use," was extended until the end of March 2024.

Starting from April 1, 2024, the duty-free import threshold has returned to its previous levels:

- For goods imported in accompanied or unaccompanied baggage by means of transport other than air or on foot – the value does not exceed the equivalent of 500 euros, or the weight does not exceed 25 kg;

- For goods delivered by a carrier or sent in international postal shipments – the value does not exceed the equivalent of 200 euros, and the gross weight does not exceed 31 kg.

Previously, the duty-free import threshold for individuals was 1,000 euros.
