Business Forum Strengthens Economic Ties Between Shymkent and China

The mayor of Shymkent, Gabit Syzdykbekov, met with a delegation from the People's Republic of China led by the deputy governor of the Suar district, Su Xiaoli. Discussions focused on bilateral cooperation, enhancing trade relations, and implementing investment projects.

As part of efforts to strengthen bilateral ties, a forum organized by the "KIT" business association was held in Shymkent. Local businessmen engaged in B2B meetings with Chinese companies in the light industry, food production, and polyester materials sectors.

Business representatives were given the opportunity to export their products abroad and establish relationships with other partner companies. The forum, attended by 35 Chinese companies, witnessed the signing of several agreements.

Last year, the trade turnover between Shymkent and China reached $291.7 million. Currently, three investment projects involving Chinese investors are underway in the city, with another $60 million project in progress. The launch of the "Wan Sheng Ceramic" tile factory in the "Zhuldyz" industrial zone is expected to create 350 job opportunities.
