The Kokshetau transport prosecutor's office has secured the rights of 605 carrier entrepreneurs after analyzing compliance with legislation on toll road payments, as reported by Zakon.kz.
According to the Main Transport Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan, the branch of KazAvtoZhol JSC unreasonably charged fees for passage to owners of heavy vehicles on the Astana-Petropavlovsk highway section.
Following the prosecutor's intervention, the charged amounts for passage on this road section to 605 business entities totaling around 3.5 million tenge have been canceled, and measures are being taken to rectify legal violations in the road measuring system.
Additionally, the prosecutor's office has raised the issue of introducing a "subscription fee" for residents of settlements, supported by the relevant ministry and currently under review.
On February 15, 2024, the Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan, Marat Karabayev, announced an increase in toll road tariffs in the country.
