Kazakhstan Ensures Food Supply Stability Amid Floods, Prices Remain Unchanged

During a briefing on April 8th, Aliya Abdrakhmanova, the official representative of the Ministry of Trade and Integration, provided updates on the impact of floods in Kazakhstan on retail outlets and the regulation of prices for essential food products. According to the National Statistics Bureau, there has been no increase in prices for essential food products.

The Ministry has been monitoring the food supply situation, especially in regions affected by the floods. A field inspection was conducted to assess food reserves, revealing that 80 retail outlets were affected in various regions. One retail outlet was affected in Pavlodar region, 22 in Kostanay region, 29 in Aktobe region, 35 in Atyrau region, and 13 in West Kazakhstan region.

Abdrakhmanova mentioned that the total damage is still being assessed, while the situation remains stable in other regions. The Ministry has also engaged with major retail chains to emphasize the importance of price stability. In case of any price hikes, individuals are encouraged to report them to the specified hotline.

Additionally, on April 8th, the Ministry of Health addressed concerns regarding the risk of infectious diseases outbreaks due to the floods. The government's proactive measures and coordination aim to ensure food security and public health safety during this challenging period in Kazakhstan.
