Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia Sign Agreement for Wind Power Station Construction

During a meeting between Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the Kingdom's Energy Minister, an agreement was signed for the construction of a wind power station. The President's press service confirmed the news.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi company ACWA Power, Mohammed Abunayyan, discussed the prospects of a joint investment project to build a 1 GW wind power station in the Zhetysu region, as well as plans for cooperation with Kazakhstan in the field of green energy.

Following the meeting, an agreement was signed between the Government of Kazakhstan and the Government of Saudi Arabia for the implementation of the joint project. Abdulaziz bin Salman expressed gratitude to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the warm reception and emphasized the historical significance of the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the unprecedented level of Kazakh-Saudi relations and the substantial progress achieved in various sectors as a result of agreements with Crown Prince, Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. The strong ties between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia, rooted in history, were also acknowledged during the meeting.
