The National Statistics Bureau of the Republic of Kazakhstan has released data indicating a 5.1% increase in the country's GDP in real terms compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
According to the preliminary data, the GDP generated from January to December 2023 amounted to 120.5 trillion tenge.
The sectors that demonstrated the highest growth rates include:
- Construction at 13.3%
- Wholesale and retail trade at 11.3%
- Automotive and motorcycle repair at 11.3%
- Information and communication at 7.5%
- Transportation and storage at 7.1%
- Accommodation and food services at 5.4%
- Mining and quarrying at 4.6%
Kazakhstan holds the top position among Central Asian countries in terms of GDP growth, surpassing the combined figures of Uzbekistan, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
