Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov announced during a briefing at the government on May 10 the allocation of an additional 400 billion tenge for the development of the country's agro-industrial complex, as reported by the news source.

The Minister highlighted that a total of 1.5 trillion tenge is needed for spring field work. In previous years, 140 billion tenge was allocated for these purposes along with 40 billion for forward procurement. This year, an additional 400 billion tenge will be provided.

"However, these are not budget funds, but rather funds raised. Only the interest rate will be subsidized from the budget. Applications are already being accepted, we have utilized 140 and 40 billion tenge, and applications for the 400 billion tenge are coming in. We will start utilizing these funds from Monday. The funds will be earmarked for seeds, herbicides, mineral fertilizers, and spare parts," explained Aidarbek Saparov.

If the ministry fails to utilize these funds within 1-1.5 months, they will be redirected towards harvesting activities – procurement of fuel, lubricants, and spare parts.

The Ministry of Agriculture has prepared a national project for the development of the agro-industrial complex called "Strong Agro-Industrial Complex" for the years 2024-2028. According to the ministry, its implementation will double the volume of gross agricultural production, modernize agricultural machinery, and double the export of agricultural products. To achieve this, it is planned to increase the industry's financing with an annual funding of no less than 400 billion tenge.
