Kazakhstan Introduces Flexible Tariffs for Crossing State Border

in Economy / Kazakhstan - by

The Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan has issued an order on March 5, 2024, adjusting the fees for crossing the State border for vehicles, goods, and cargo, as well as their passage through the electronic queue.

According to the amendments, the passage of cargo vehicles, including trailers and semi-trailers, based on the date and time of reservation in the automated electronic queue system, will continue to be charged at 1 MRP (3692 tenge since January 1, 2024).

For the passage of these vehicles in an expedited manner, a fee of 100 MRP (369,200 tenge since January 1, 2024) will be imposed.

The order will come into effect on March 18, 2024.

These new changes were developed taking into account business feedback and implementing flexible pricing, allowing carriers to cross the border in an expedited manner at a cost of 100 MRP. The gradation of fees based on rescheduled dates has been eliminated, as expedited passage implies the readiness of the vehicle to cross the State border.

Previously in Kazakhstan, the payment differentiation depended on the crossing timeframe: 50 MRP for crossing within 5 days of payment and 100 MRP within 30 days of payment.
