According to the Ministry of Labor, as of March 1, 2024, there are 13,088 foreign citizens working in Kazakhstan with permits from local executive bodies. These foreign workers are categorized into different groups, with the majority falling under the categories of specialists and skilled workers.

The Ministry specified that the highest number of foreign workers are employed in sectors such as construction, manufacturing, mining, agriculture, and professional services. China, India, Turkey, and Uzbekistan are the main countries from where these foreign workers come to Kazakhstan for employment.

It is noted that annually, a quota is established and allocated for attracting foreign specialists to the country. In 2024, the total quota is set at 0.23% of the workforce in the country, amounting to 22,000 individuals. This regulation aims to regulate and manage the influx of foreign labor in Kazakhstan.
