President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the Chairman of the National Bank, Timur Suleimenov, to review the results of the monetary policy implementation and the bank's future plans.
Suleimenov reported on the slowdown of annual inflation and persistent pro-inflationary factors within the economy. He also discussed the status of assets of the National Pension Fund and gold and foreign exchange reserves, as well as the implementation of the "National Fund for Children" program.
Additionally, Suleimenov updated on the National Bank's progress in expanding financing for the real sector of the economy, developing the National Payment System, and implementing open banking principles. Information was also provided on the establishment of an anti-fraud center to protect clients' funds from fraud and the utilization of digital tenge to enhance transparency and efficiency in government procurement and budget expenditures.
Following the meeting, the President assigned several tasks to the National Bank in key areas of its operations. Earlier, Tokayev also met with the Chairman of the Supreme Court, Aslambek Mergaliev, emphasizing the crucial role of courts in upholding the rule of law and protecting the rights and legitimate interests of citizens and entrepreneurs.
