The Minister of Finance has signed an order regarding a pilot project on the marking and traceability of brewery products. The aim of the pilot project is to test the effectiveness of product identification mechanisms to confirm authenticity, combat illegal imports, and standardize accounting procedures. The project involves applying identification tools on consumer packaging of brewery products during production, storage, and import.
The order includes methodological recommendations for the pilot project, outlining the process for marking products, providing information to the operator, and defining identification tool characteristics. Manufacturers or importers must register products in the Information System by providing detailed information such as the applicant's identification, product details, and licensing documents.
Registration may be denied if the product is already registered, the GTIN code is invalid, or does not exist. Upon registration, the operator updates the product registry in the Information System. The pilot project will run from February 15 to March 31, 2025, aiming to enhance product traceability and combat illicit trade. This initiative complements Kazakhstan's efforts to regulate internal trade practices.
