The official representative of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, Moldir Abdyalieva, provided an update on the situation at water reservoirs during a briefing at the CCS.

In the Akmola region, the Astana and Seletinsk reservoirs are at full capacity and operating normally.

In North Kazakhstan, two major reservoirs are also at full capacity, with water levels continuing to rise. The overflow height at the Sergeyevsky reservoir dam is 2.6 meters. The water level of the Esil River in Petropavlovsk stands at 1355 cm, remaining stable over the past day.

In Aktobe region, the average filling of two major reservoirs is at 97%, with the situation stable in the region.

In East Kazakhstan, the average filling of two major reservoirs is around 80%.

In Abyisk region, the Shulbinsk reservoir is at 74% capacity, with ongoing spring flooding leading to environmental releases due to increased tributaries. The Ertis Cascade reservoirs are operating normally.

In West Kazakhstan, the average filling of four major reservoirs is at 80%, all functioning normally. The water level of the Zhaiyk River on the Russian border is at 818 cm.

In Karaganda region, three major reservoirs are at 98% capacity, with a stable situation.

In Kostanay region, the average filling of two major reservoirs is at 92%, both operating normally.

Abdyalieva emphasized that round-the-clock monitoring of the water situation continues at all reservoirs.

It was previously announced that 57 new reservoirs will be built in Kazakhstan following the recent massive floods.

The ongoing monitoring and stable operations of the reservoirs indicate a proactive approach to water management in Kazakhstan, ensuring readiness for any potential challenges in the future.
