In a late-night effort, servicemen in the village of Kolos, Irgiz district of Aktobe region in Kazakhstan are reinforcing the banks of the Torgai and Irgiz rivers.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, there is active laying of sandbags filled with inert material at the confluence of these two rivers.
"Our servicemen are tirelessly working around the clock to ensure the safety and protection of the territory from potential flooding," noted the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Earlier, it was reported that nearly 50,000 Kazakhs have returned to their homes following the onset of floods.
