In the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan on May 6, it was reported what is happening in the city of Kulsary, which was severely affected by floods.
According to the department, rescuers have pumped out and drained water from 2900 private residential houses in the city.
"It is worth noting that as of today, only 20 houses and 10 business facilities remain flooded. Emergency and rescue operations in the city are ongoing," the statement said.
The Emergency Situations Ministry also released a video showing a Turkestan group pumping out water using mobile pumping stations. These stations are capable of pumping out 500 liters of water per second.
"There are 585 people in the region's evacuation centers, including 279 children. It is worth reminding that since April 7, 2024, a state of emergency of a natural local scale has been in effect in the region," the department added.
Earlier, it was reported that the water level in the Ural River had reached a critical point.
