Kazakhstan Oil Production Affected by Floods, 634 Wells Suspended

Due to the flooding situation in Kazakhstan, operations at 634 wells in the Aktobe and Atyrau regions have been suspended, resulting in a total loss of 16,000 tons of oil production. The Ministry of Energy announced this on April 18th.

As of today, 141 wells have been restored, while production remains halted at 493 wells. In Aktobe, 489 wells are affected (AO "SNPS - AktobeMunaiGaz" 440 wells, AO "KMK Munai" 25 wells, TOO "Firma Ada Oil" 24 wells), and in Atyrau, four wells are suspended (AO "EmbaMunaiGaz" three wells, TOO "5A Oil" one well).

The ministry representatives also mentioned ongoing efforts including water pumping, well sealing, and support for the construction of new flood defenses and repair of existing ones in residential areas.
