The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan has announced that the natural fire in the Dmitrievsky forestry of the Borodulikhinsky branch of the GLPR "Semey Ormany" has been extinguished.

According to preliminary estimates, the fire affected an area of 0.8 hectares. "The forces and resources of the Department of Emergency Situations of the Abai region and the natural reserve were involved in extinguishing the fire. The Ministry of Emergency Situations urges residents and guests of the region to strictly observe fire safety rules when in the forest area," the statement said.

It was previously reported that the forests in "Semey Ormany" had caught fire again. According to preliminary information, on April 26, 2024, at 13:21, it was reported that pines were burning in the Borodulikhinsky district, 15 km from the village of Borodulikha, on the territory of the GLPR "Semey Ormany" branch. The cause of the fire was later announced by the Akimat of the Abai region and the information service of the reserve.

It is worth noting that on June 8, 2023, a large forest fire also broke out in "Semey Ormany." By June 9, the area of the fire had increased to 30,000 hectares, and three forestry workers had died. The fire was extinguished more than a month later, claiming the lives of 14 people. Following the deaths caused by the forest fire, June 12 was declared a National Day of Mourning in Kazakhstan.
